Event Details
Cozy up with a sketchpad and some hot chocolate while we learn how to paint winter birds!
In this winter art workshop, Scientific Illustrator Raisa Kochmaruk will teach participants to look at the forest the way that an artist does: What shapes can you see in a cardinal? What lines can you find in a pine tree? What colors are in a bank of snow? How can you learn to SEE the forest like an artist?
Raisa is a Bethlehem native who is currently based in New Hampshire, where she does science outreach as well as illustration for the Hubbard Brook Research Foundation, a scientific non profit that teaches about ecosystems and forest health. She incorporates science education into her art workshops so that participants can learn about their subjects and the unique role they play in a forest ecosystem as they paint them.
Participant limit: 18
Materials will be provided.
