Program Description

Event Details

Dating back as far as 3,000 years, handheld fans have been used in dance, in war, to communicate secret messages, and to keep us cool. This month, decorate your very own handheld silk fan. While you're here, learn about the little-known language of fans.

From noon to 1pm, enjoy "Storytime at the Museum" with Julia Brennan from the Bethlehem Area Public Library! Julia will be at the Kemerer to read books like The Empress and the SilkwormMagical Silkworm: A Story About a Birthday Gift Told in English and Chinese, and Silk Roads: The Illustrated History of the World.
