Program Description

Event Details

It's Fire Prevention Week! Join Sparky from the Fire Department and learn all about fire safety and how you can keep yourself and your family safe from fire! No registration required. All ages are welcome! Located only at the Main Library on 11 West Church St., Bethlehem PA 18018. This event will take place outside the library and will have a firetruck and firefighters on site. In case of rain, we will move inside the Youth Services Department on the 2nd floor.

What is Fire Prevention Week?

In 1925, President Calvin Coolidge proclaimed Fire Prevention Week a national observance, making it the longest-running public health observance in our country. During Fire Prevention Week, children, adults, and teachers learn how to stay safe in case of a fire. Firefighters provide lifesaving public education in an effort to drastically decrease casualties caused by fires.

Thanks so much to the Bethlehem Fire Department for teaching us all about fire safety each year!
