Program Description
Event Details
During World War II, silk was used in a number of ways, with one of the most common being in the printing of navigational maps. Showing enemy defenses, meeting points, and local landmarks, silk maps were essential to a soldier’s survival. On Saturday, September 23rd, the folks at Historic Bethlehem Museums & Sites will be on hand to walk you through the process of making a handmade silk map. Stop by to make your own map and learn more about silk in World War II!
